Mission

Useful context for the road between cities.

The Continental Coach publishes independent, educational travel information about European coach journeys. We focus on the parts of a trip that are easy to overlook until they matter: the precise coach stop, the walk through a station district, a cross-border handover, the reach of a day bag, and the first local transport decision after arrival.

We are a reading desk, not a travel seller. The site does not take payments, issue travel documents, operate services, manage traveller accounts or investigate individual cases. Its value lies in preparation: helping a reader frame a route, identify the questions that need a current answer and arrive with a more legible plan.

Method

How the pages are made

Our editors begin with the physical shape of a journey. We consider city geography, station relationships, local public transport, cross-border responsibilities and the ordinary conditions of a long road: fatigue, layers, food, battery power and the final walk. We distinguish enduring travel practice from current operational detail. The former can be explained in a magazine article; the latter belongs with a current official source.

Before publishing, the desk checks that an assertion is proportionate to the evidence available and that the reader can tell the difference between advice, observation and provider-specific fact. We avoid invented prices, route frequencies, service guarantees, luggage limits, refund rules and scheduling claims. Where a condition may vary, we say so. Where official verification is needed, we say that too.

We write for the traveller who would rather know where the bay is than read a sales promise. British spelling, calm language and a degree of uncertainty are deliberate editorial choices. A clear “verify this” is more useful than a precise-looking statement with no dependable source behind it.

Publishing standard

We do not turn operator policy into general travel advice. We explain the questions a reader should take to the relevant provider.

Standards

What we will and will not claim

We will describe the practical anatomy of coach travel: route planning, changes, station orientation, luggage thinking, international preparation, accessibility questions and arrival planning. We will explain how coach travel can differ from rail or air without declaring a universal winner.

We will not imply an affiliation with a coach company. We will not build a booking flow, payment function, account area, customer chat, seat selection or ticket generator. We will not use urgency, invented social proof, rankings or fabricated testimonials. The site’s editorial tone is intended to be slower than commercial travel pages because travel decisions deserve an honest margin.

Corrections

A page can be corrected.

If you notice an error, an unclear passage, an outdated station context or a missing practical consideration, write to [email protected]. Include the page address, the sentence or section, the reason for the correction and, where possible, a link to a current authoritative source. The desk reviews substantiated editorial corrections and updates a page when the evidence warrants it.

We cannot use this channel to resolve a live journey, a payment question, a delay case, luggage claim or an operator dispute. Those matters need the company that operated the service or the channel through which the travel was arranged. Keeping that boundary clear protects readers from waiting for help we cannot provide.

Independence

The necessary boundary

This website is an independent informational and educational travel resource. It is not owned, operated, or officially affiliated with FlixBus unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Independence affects both language and design. The Continental Coach has its own visual system, its own editorial framing and no commercial transaction layer. Mentions of operators are made only as part of useful travel context. Readers should treat official operator channels and transport authorities as the authority for present operational matters.
